A quick guide to posting events that get found, trusted, and visited.
Posting on MyLocalStops is free. A good listing helps nearby shoppers find you, plan a route to your event, and show up ready to buy. Follow these guidelines and your event will look great on the map — and clear our review faster.
Every field you fill in helps a shopper decide to come. At minimum, get these right:
A few honest sentences beat a wall of text. Tell people what to expect, what's special, and anything they should know before coming — pricing style, cash only, early birds welcome or not, parking, or whether it's rain-or-shine. Don't over-promise; misleading listings get removed and hurt your reputation with returning shoppers.
Events with a photo get far more visits. Your first photo becomes the card image on the map.
Hosting from your house? Turn on address privacy when you post. Shoppers see the neighborhood and an approximate pin first, and your exact street address reveals only shortly before the event starts. It's a simple way to keep your home private until people actually need directions. You decide what to share and when.
List real, lawful, in-person local events. Do not post:
You are responsible for following your local laws, ordinances, permit rules, HOA and venue policies, and any sales-tax obligations that apply to your event.
Post each event once. If details change, edit the existing listing instead of creating a new one. Duplicate or near-duplicate listings may be merged or removed.
Submissions go to a quick human review before they appear on the public map. We may lightly edit formatting, fix an obvious category, or ask you for a missing detail. We can decline or remove listings that are inaccurate, misleading, unsafe, or against these guidelines. Most good listings are approved quickly.
If your event is postponed, sold out, or cancelled, update or let us know as soon as you can — nothing frustrates a shopper more than driving to a sale that isn't happening. Accurate hosts get better placement and more repeat visitors over time.
