This Privacy Policy explains how MyLocalStops, operated by East Lansing Auction LLC ("MyLocalStops," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use https://mylocalstops.com/ and related MyLocalStops services (collectively, the "Service").
MyLocalStops helps people discover, map, save, and plan visits to local events and allows organizers and community members to submit event information.
The information we collect depends on how you use MyLocalStops.
Browsing events, planning routes, and submitting an event do not require an account. If you contact us, submit an event, or create an account, we may collect information such as:
We do not need your password in plain text to operate the Service and do not intend to store plain-text passwords.
Creating an account is optional — you can browse events and plan routes without one. If you create an account, we collect your name, email, and password, and you may optionally add a home or starting address. We use that address only to set the default starting point for your route planning; it is not shown publicly, and you can change or remove it at any time. We never ask for payment or card details to create or use an account. You may also choose to sign in with Google, in which case Google verifies your identity and shares basic profile information such as your name and email with us — we never receive your Google password.

Information submitted for publication may become publicly visible through the Service.
When you submit an event, we also collect the email address you provide (and any optional name, organization, or phone number) so we can send a claim link and manage the listing with you. This contact information is not shown publicly. Your submission is saved in our database and is also emailed to us, through our form-delivery provider, as a backup. The street address you enter is sent to a mapping/geocoding provider to place the event pin; the public listing data stores the resulting map coordinates and a general area (such as the city) rather than the raw street address.

If MyLocalStops offers a device-location feature and you choose to enable it, we may process your device's approximate or precise location as necessary to provide location-based results. You can control device-location permission through your browser or device settings.
Your route and stop selections are held in your browser during your session to power the planning tools. If you create an account and add a home or starting address, we store that address with your account and use it to pre-set the starting point of your routes when you sign in. We will update this policy before we begin storing full saved routes or stop lists on our servers under your account.
MyLocalStops does not currently use artificial intelligence to process the information you submit or to generate listings. If we introduce AI-assisted features in the future, we will update this policy before they process your personal information.

We may use this information to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve MyLocalStops.
We ask for your consent before running any analytics. When the site first loads, a banner lets you Accept or Decline; if you decline — or simply ignore it — we run no analytics at all. You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the site footer.
If you accept, our own analytics remain intentionally minimal: for each page view we record the page path and, if you arrived from another website, the referring address, together with a random identifier ("mls_vid") stored in your browser's local storage so we can estimate how many separate devices visit us. This record does not include your name, IP address, or a precise device fingerprint, and it does not use cookies. We also load a third-party, privacy-focused analytics service (Ahrefs Web Analytics, designed to be cookieless) to understand aggregate traffic trends. Neither runs until you accept.
Separately from analytics, functional providers such as our map, font, and hosting services load as part of delivering a page, and — like any web request — receive standard request information (such as your device's IP address at the network level). See "How We Share Information."

Event listings are intended to help people discover local events. Information you choose to publish in a listing may therefore be publicly accessible.

Do not include personal information in a public listing unless you are comfortable making that information publicly available.
For eligible home-based events, MyLocalStops may allow an organizer to hide an exact street address until shortly before the event begins.
When this option is used, the Service may display a broader or approximate location until the configured release time.
This feature reduces direct exposure of an exact address before an event, but it cannot guarantee complete anonymity. A general location may still be inferred from map placement, event descriptions, public records, social-media posts, or other sources.
Before a photo you upload is stored, we re-encode it in your browser, which removes embedded metadata such as GPS location and camera details. This is a strong safeguard but not an absolute guarantee, and a photograph can still reveal a location through what it shows. If an image is highly sensitive, review it before uploading.
Some event information may be obtained from publicly available sources, event organizers, community calendars, social media, publicly accessible websites, or other third-party sources.
This policy applies to personal information that MyLocalStops collects or controls. It does not govern the privacy practices of third-party websites or services from which public event information may originate.
If you are an event organizer or individual and believe information about you should be corrected or removed, contact us and we will review the request.
Automated event alerts and saved-search notifications are described here for when they become available; they are not yet offered. If and when you opt in, we would use the email address, phone number, browser-notification permission, or other contact method you choose to provide those messages. A phone number you enter in our contact form today is optional and is used only to respond to your message.
You may disable optional notifications through available account settings, browser or device settings, an unsubscribe link, or other instructions included with the message.
We may still send non-promotional service messages when reasonably necessary to administer your account, respond to a request, provide security information, or communicate important changes.
MyLocalStops does not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking, and does not run third-party ad networks.

Some third-party services we rely on (listed under "How We Share Information") may set their own cookies or use similar technologies to deliver their features; our website analytics provider, Ahrefs Web Analytics, is designed to be cookieless. You can change your analytics choice with the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer, and clear local storage or control cookies through your browser settings, although some parts of the Service may not work correctly if you do.

When you enter a location in search, plan a route, or submit an event address, the relevant mapping, geocoding, or routing provider above receives that location information (and, as with any web request, your device's IP address) in order to return a result.
Event information, photos, organizer details, and other content that you intentionally submit for public display may be visible to anyone who can access the Service.

For example, a "Get directions" link opens the event location in Google Maps. When you follow such a link, you share information with that third party.
Those services operate under their own privacy policies and practices. We are not responsible for the privacy or security practices of third parties.
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to:

MyLocalStops is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, information may be processed and stored in the United States or in other locations where our service providers operate.
